
Angel Zaberski Jr. is a Bulgarian pianist and composer, widely recognized for his work at the intersection of jazz and classical music. Born in Sofia into a family of musicians, he began studying piano at an early age and later graduated from the National Music School “Lubomir Pipkov” before completing studies in composition and conducting at the National Academy of Music Pancho Vladigerov.
A leading figure in contemporary Bulgarian jazz, he has served as arranger for the Big Band of the Bulgarian National Radio and has taught improvisation at the New Bulgarian University. He has released multiple acclaimed albums with ensembles such as his octet, big band, and trio, and has performed widely across Europe and beyond, collaborating with prominent jazz and classical musicians.
Zaberski is also known for large-scale cross-genre projects such as Symphony–Jazz and Four Pianists, which explore the dialogue between orchestral music and jazz improvisation. His work has been featured at major festivals and concert halls across Europe, establishing him as one of Bulgaria’s most prominent contemporary jazz composers and pianists.
