XVI International Summer School – Liberty, Law & Economics 2023

The XVI International Summer School - "Liberty, Law, and Economics, will be held on August 15–19, 2023 in Hotel Savaneti, Ikalto, Kakheti, Georgia, hosted by the New Economic School – Georgia in collaboration with the Institute of Economic Studies of Europe (IES-Europe), the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, South Caucasus Office (FNF-F SC) and the University of Georgia (UG).
Summer school is a fantastic option for next August if you're interested in investigating the concepts of liberty, expanding your understanding of sound economics, natural law, and political philosophy, and finding like-minded friends.
Lecturers: Dr. Pierre Garello (France), Dr. Christian Nasulea (Romania), Dr. Cris Lingle (USA), Dr. Idit (Raz) Kalisher (Israel), Paata Sheshelidze (Georgia), Gia Jandieri (Georgia) and others will be on the faculty.

Christopher Lingle is a Visiting Senior Fellow at AIER, Visiting Professor of Economics in the Escuela de Negocios at Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala, Research Scholar at the Centre for Civil Society (New Delhi), International Political Economic Advisor for the Asian Institute for Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA – Kathmandu), International Senior Fellow at the Property Rights Institute (USA), Senior Fellow at the Center for Market Education (Malaysia), & Senior Visiting Fellow, Advocata (Colombo, Sri Lanka). His research interests are in the areas of Political Economy and International Economics with a focus on emerging market economies and public policy reform in East and Central Europe, East Asia, Latin America, and Southern Africa.

Idit Kalisher is a senior researcher at the Aaron Institute for Economic Policy, Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya (IDC) and a lecturer at Ben Gurion University. Her main research and teaching expertise are labor economics and applied econometrics. Along with her work at the IDC she has developed a curriculum on economic education for children intended for parents and educational staff. She hold an MA in economics from Ben Gurion University and is about to complete her PhD in economics at Ben Gurion University

Gia Jandieri is vice-president and founder of the New Economic School – Georgia (NESG). In the past he has served as member of the board of the Georgian National Institute of Statistics, has worked for the Open Society Foundation, the Office of Anticorruption Working Group. He has served as Head of the Financial Office of the Parliament of Georgia, Member and Financial Officer at Central Election Commission of Georgia, Adviser at the National Audit Office of Georgia, and as Economist at the Ministry of Wholesale of Georgia.

Paata Sheshelidze is co-founder and president of the New Economic School - Georgia, a Tbilisi based free market think-tank and educational center. He is editor in chief of Library of Liberty publications and co-founder and director of the Institute of Economic Freedom and Library of Liberty. He teaches various economic disciplines at University of Georgia and Black Sea International University in Tbilisi.

Christian Năsulea teaches Economics at the Department of International Relations and Universal History at the Faculty of History of the University of Bucharest. He is the Executive Director of the Institute for Economic Studies - Europe and a fellow of the Institute for Research in Economic and Fiscal Issues. His areas of research interest include public policy and stimuli for economic development, political and commercial negotiation in international relations, behavioural economics and decision processes.

President of IES-Europe and Editor-in-Chief of both the Journal des Économistes et des Études Humaines and Journal des Libertés, Pierre Garello is Professor of Economics at the Faculté d’Economie et Gestion of Aix Marseille University in France. He has published various articles on Austrian economics, law and economics (especially competition law and contract law). He is the editor-in-chief of the Journal des Économistes et des Études Humaines, a scholarly review dealing with economic, legal, philosophical and political issues, in the tradition of the French Classical Liberal School.
