Nicolas Lecaussin

Graduated from Sciences Po Paris, Nicolas Lecaussin (Bogdan Calinescu) was born in Romania. Having arrived in France in 1990, he has worked in the world of think tanks since 1997. He is currently the Director of the IREF (Institute for Economic and Fiscal Research), a European think tank based in Paris.

A specialist in economic and political issues, he has written hundreds of articles and is the author of several books, including This State That Is Killing France, Effective Absolutism, Help! They Want to Destroy Capitalism!, France, Europe, Romania, The French Anti-Liberal Obsession, and The Lesson-Givers. He is also co-author of the books What Are the Rich Good For? (Lattès, 2012), Anti-Piketty, and The Failure of the State.

He was awarded the 2015 Renaissance Prize in Economics for his book The French Anti-Liberal Obsession.
